Anyone who wants to run for a county position in 2014 will need to file nominating petitions between March 3rd and March 26th.
Two county board positions will be up for election in 2014: District 1, which has been represented by supervisor Dennis Karlsbroten, and District 2, which has been represented by supervisor Floyd Ashbacher. County supervisors normally serve two-year terms. But because of the redistricting required by the results of the 2010 U.S. Census, Karlsbroten and Ashbacher were elected to two-year terms. They will serve norma four-year terms if re-elected in November.
Voters will also select a County Attorney, County Recorder and County Treasurer in 2014. Any candidates for those offices also must file nomination papers by March 26th.
