45-year-old Jay Jermier of Decorah will NOT go on trial Wednesday on one count of vehicular homicide, a Class B felony.
Jermier is accused of having a blood alcohol reading above the legal limit when his motorcycle went out of control on Highway 52 just north of Calmar on September 28th last year. A passenger on Jermier's motorcycle, 44-year-old Trish Taylor of Calmar, was killed in the crash.
A five-day trial on the charge had been scheduled to start on Wednesday, including jury selection. But a judge in the case has now postponed the trial until May 21st.
