Arctic air covers the Decorah area

Decorah has recorded a low of 22 degrees below zero on Monday.  While that's cold, it's still 11 degrees warmer than the 33 degree below zero mark set January 6th of 1988.

And the National Weather Service has improved1 its wind chill estimates ever so slight.  Wind gusts are now expected to peak at 25 miles an hour, pushing peak wind chills to 45 below zero.
