


With roads in the Decorah area now snow-covered, can minor traffic accidents be far behind? Decorah Police say they have handled three accidents in the last three days.
At noon on Monday, 79-year-old Bette Greedy of Decorah backed out of her driveway--and into a parked car owned by Timmy Schuring of Decorah. The accident causes a total of $1,600 in damages.
On Monday afternoon, 63-year-old Karlene Humpal of Decorah was driving north on Old Stage Road when she slowed down for a vehicle in front of her, which was turning into a driveway. But 40-year-old Brad Ehrie of Decorah could not stop in time and rear-ended Humpal's car, causing $3,500 in damages.
On Tuesday morning, 70-year-old David Sweet and 26-year-old Jessica Roney both backed out of parking spaces on Winnebago Street at the same time, The accident caused $1,900 in damages.
No tickets were issued in any of the three accidents.
