Board members from the Trails From Freeport group are calling Monday night's fundraiser a big success.
Money raised from Monday's event, which was sponsored by Rubaiyat and held on the second floor of T-Bock's, will be used to help pay for the cost of constructing a bike trail from the Wal-Mart parking lot to downtown Freeport and beyond to past the Haugen-Hummel subdivision.
Last year's Trails From Freeport fundraiser brought in $16,500. This year's fundraiser has already brought in over $30,000, with the final figure possibly close to double last year's amount.
