Raising funds for a new animal shelter is "ruff," but the Humane Society of Northeast Iowa has found a "purr"fect way to do it.
HSNEI has begun selling wines--six different varieties from Chile's Lontue Valley-- Malbec, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
A "significant portion" of the purchase price is donated to HSNEI, according to the organization. These "Benefit Wines" are now available online at
http://www.benefitwines.com/hsnei. They are certified organic and vegan friendly wines and are produced on a fair trade vineyard.
