City of Decorah candidate forum was a quiet affair

A crowd of around 60 people attended a candidate forum Thursday night that featured ten people running for City of Decorah offices.

Mayoral candidates Don Arendt and Jim McIntosh and city council candidates Jarrad Walter, Randy Schissel, Jody Niess, Matthew Gausman, Bill Wagner, Marion Pruitt-Jefferson, Chuck Lore and Gary Rustad spoke at the forum, hosted by the local AAUW chapter.

The ten candidates agreed that the number one issue facing the City of Decorah was the challenge of continuing to provide city services while revenues might be decreasing in the future.

The ten also agreed on the need to set priorities and supported local efforts towards sustainability.
