The flu season is just around the corner. That means it's time to get a flu vaccine.
Gundersen Decorah Clinic officials say on Monday the clinic will begin offering three different options for receiving this year's flu vaccine:
• Traditional flu vaccine – is a shot injected into the muscle and is available for anyone six months old and older
• Intradermal flu vaccine - is a shot that is injected into the skin instead of the muscle. The intradermal shot uses a much smaller needle than the regular flu shot. It is approved by FDA for use in adults 18 - 64 years of age.
• Nasal Spray – is a mist that is injected into one of your nasal passages and is available for ages 2 – 49 years
Winneshiek County Health Department will begin holding flu clinics on Tuesday. Other health care providers in Decorah also have begun offering flu vaccine.
