The trail of 45-year-old Jay Jermier of Decorah has been postponed until January.
Jermier faces one count of vehicular homicide, a Class B felony, in connection with the crash of his motorcycle last September 28th. The crash on Highway 52 just north of Calmar killed a passenger on Jermier's motorcycle, 44-year-old Trish Taylor of Calmar. Police said Jermier had a blood alcohol reading above the legal limit when his motorcycle went out of control.
Jermier's trial has now been postponed until 9:00 a.m. January 8th to give attorneys for both sides time to prepare further.
