Baseball bat used in assault; two juveniles taken into Juvenile Court custody

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says it received a 9-1-1 call last Wednesday night about an assault at 2472 Evergreen Road in Decorah.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a 14-year-old male had been assaulted with a baseball bat.  The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Sheriff's deputies conducted an investigation into the incident, then charged the 14-year-old male with assault and a juvenile female with assault causing bodily injury.  Both juveniles have been referred to Juvenile Court Services.
