Decorah resident Jarrad Walter has filed papers to be on the November 5th ballot for Decorah City Council Ward 1.

Walter is a Decorah native who graduated from both Decorah High School (1994) and Luther College (1998).  Upon graduating he and his wife Laurie, moved to Austin, Texas.  In 2012, the family returned to Decorah.  Walter continues to work in sales and marketing support for a software company based in Austin.

Shortly after returning to Decorah, Walter was appointed to the Decorah Human Rights Commission. This July he volunteered to fill the vacant Ward 1 seat on the Decorah City Council.

"I am grateful to have been appointed to represent Ward 1 on the City Council in July, and my goal is to continue serving the citizens of Decorah," said Walter.
