Winneshiek County Historical Society is planning a Civil War commemoration

The Winneshiek County Historical Society has announced plans for a commemoration of the men of Winneshiek County who served in the Civil War.  The event will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14th, on the grounds of the Courthouse.

The program will tell the histories of Winneshiek County men who served in the "war of the Rebellion."  Following the Courthouse ceremony, there will be a live performance at Decorah Lutheran Church of "Songs of the Civil War" by Bob Welch.
