Highway 9 accident causes $6,500 in damages

It was a two vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on Highway 9, but four vehicles were somewhat involved.

Decorah Police say an unidentified vehicle with bicycles on the roof swerved in front of three cars and attempted to run left into the Kelly Real Estate parking lot, but missed the driveway and then made a U-turn.

47-year-old Kenneth White of Ridgeway was a driver of one of the three vehicles.  When he slowed to avoid hitting a Dodge Dakota in front of him, he was struck from behind by a car driven by 74-year-old James Rela of Waterloo.

Neither driver was injured.  The identity of the driver of the car that caused the accident is unknown.
