


Decorah Police have released details of an accident at 10:45 Tuesday morning that injured a pedestrian on Water Street,
Police say 61-year-old Patricia Starmer of Norwalk, Iowa was standing next to her car on Water Street near Winnebago Street when a semi drove down Water Street, the back door of the semi swung open and struck Starmer.
The driver of the semi, 36-year-old Ryan Weigel of New Hampton, was ticketed for Failure to Secure a Cargo Door.
Starmer was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by ambulance. No condition report was immediately available.
Decorah Police were assisted by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department, Decorah Fire Department, Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance, Iowa Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Decorah Police 9-1-1 dispatchers and several First Responders.
