WMC's SHIIP volunteers win Governor's Award

Winneshiek Medical Center's Senior Health Insurance Information Program volunteers have received the 2013 Governor's Volunteer Award.

SHIIP volunteers Tom Counters, Helen Hermeier, Jerrine Jacobsen, Maury Lentz, John Nelson, Dave Sweet and Dick Wuest were honored with Group Volunteer Awards.  Nelson also received a 15-year Individual Length of Service award, and Hermeier received her 10-year award.  

SHIIP provides free informational materials as well as one-to-one assistance with Medicare Coverage, Medicare supplement insurance, Medicare Part D assistance and enrollment (prescription insurance), long-term care insurance, Medicare and insurance claims and other related issues.
