Is there too much traffic on East Main Street?

Is there too much truck traffic on East Main Street in Decorah—and, if so, what can be done about it?

Decorah City Street Committee Chair Gary Rustad raised the issue at Monday night's Decorah City Council meeting.  He said high truck traffic on East Main Street not only creates potential safety issues, but it puts more pressure on the roadway.  City officials are making plans to repave East Main Street in the future, but high truck traffic could create damage in the meantime.
