Northeast Iowa law enforcement officials are asking the public for help in finding a missing Monona man.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has issued arrest warrants for 21-year-old Troy Laufenberg of Monona, who is wanted for child endangerment and several drug-related charges.
Laufenberg disappeared from Monona on July 15th. Police were called to his apartment in Monona on a report of an injured child. 18-month-old Myah Larson was taken to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Family members say the child has been taken off life support, is blind and has only brain stem activity.
Laufenberg will be charged with Child Endangerment (Class D Felony), Possession with Intent to Deliver (Class D Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Serious Misdemeanor), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor) when he is apprehended, DCI officials say.
Anybody with information on Lautenberg's whereabouts can call DCI agent Mike Krapfl at 563-599-4239 or can call the Dubuque Police Department at 563-589-5510.
A fund for Myah and her family has now been set up at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Waukon. Anyone wishing to donate can write a check out to the Myah Larson Fund and send it to Farmers and Merchants Bank, P.O. Box 9, Waukon, Iowa, 52172.
