The City of Decorah has been awarded a state grant for around $3,000 that will pay to replace some worn-out street signs in the city. The grant from the All Town Sign Replacement Program will pay for 55 new street signs, as well as for posts and hardware. The City of Decorah will provide the labor to install the signs and to handle ongoing maintenance.
Decorah Street Department Superintendent Dave Tollefson said, "I am very happy we received this support and I glad we have such a great working relationship with the Iowa DOT. This support will really help stretch our budget and help us take care of many signs that are defective."
Signs should be delivered in about 4 to 6 weeks.
