The identity of the owner of a $2 million Iowa Lottery winning ticket has been revealed. He is 80-year-old Don Johnson of Decorah.
Johnson was given a Powerball ticket as a Father's Day present. He checked the ticket on Sunday morning at the Casey's store on College Drive in Decorah--and learned it was worth $2 million.
After state and federal taxes are taken out, Johnson will receive a check for $1.4 million. "Not too bad," he tells decorahnews.com.
Johnson says his daughter and son-in-law, Charles and Deb Coffey of Decorah, will give him a ride to Des Moines soon, where he will claim his prize at the Iowa Lottery headquarters.
