Two teams from Decorah High School finished in the top six this week at the State Envirothon contest at Springbrook State Park near Guthrie Center.
The tream of Claire Breitenstein, Emily Alcock, Mitch Burggraf, Tyler Hovey and Isaac Marquardt, "Decorah Supafly," finished third with 342.63 points, while "Decorah Eagles," the team of Hannah Rooney, Rebecka Green, Devvin Schroeder, Daiton Tietz, Parker Fretheim, finished sixth.
The winning team at the State Envirothon was from Marshalltown. They will qualify for a trip to the International Canon Envirothon held in Bozeman, Montana in August. The Canon Envirothon is North America's largest environmental competition testing students on their knowledge of aquatics, forestry, soils and wildlife.
