


The North Winneshiek School Board Monday approved a 2013-2014 budget after holding a public hearing.
The total levy will generate $1,807,875 in property taxes for the school district. Depending on the state legislature's funding level, the recommended levy rate for FY13 will be between $15.10 and $15.25 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. That compares with an average statewide school levy of $14.48 and a range of from $8.33 to $23.06 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.
The North Winneshiek School District's valuation has increased from $112,524,843 to $118,520,095 which reflects a 5 percent increase in the overall property value in the district from last year.
