Four Luther College faculty members earn tenure

Four Luther College faculty members have been granted tenure by the college's Board of Regents.

Eric Baack is an assistant professor of biology who received his B.A. from Carleton College, his master's degree from Lewis and Clark College and his Ph. D. in Population Biology from the University of California--Davis

Sean Burke is an assistant professor of religion who received a B.A. from Concordia College, his M.Div. from Lutheran Theological Seminary and his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Graduate Theological Union.

Allen Hightower is a professor of music and the conductor of the Nordic Choir.  He holds degrees from Sam Houston State University, Baylor University, the Eastman School of Music and UCLA.

Richard Mitsi is an assistant Professor of Africana Studies and History.  He holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Iowa after receiving an M.A. and B.A. from the University of Zimbabwe.

Professors Baack, Burke and Mtisi were also promoted to associate professor.

The Luther Board of Regents promoted 10 faculty members to full professor--Scott Carlson, Jodi Enos-Berlage, Kristy Gould, Jane Hawley, Laurie Iudin-Nelson, Gereon Kopf, Richard Merritt, Kate Narveson, David Njus and Nicholas Preus.

Elizabeth Steding was  promoted to associate professor.
