The Luther College Presidential Search Committee met by conference call Monday and issued a second statement clarifying its earlier statement made on Saturday:
"The Presidential Search Committee brought two candidates to campus. After lengthy discussion at this past weekend's Board of Regents meeting, the Regents agreed to continue discussions with a single candidate, Dr. Mark R. Hagerott, for the presidency of Luther College. At the same time, the Regents requested more information and additional engagement in order to make a decision regarding his candidacy. They therefore charged the search committee to design the additional process, gather information, and to make its report available to the Regents as soon as possible, but no later than April 30th, so that the Regents can make their final decision with respect to Dr. Hagerott's candidacy."
