EMC Insurance Companies has named A&J Petersburg Agency in Decorah as one of its 2013 "Leading Partners" in the United States.  EMC is a Des Moines property/casualty insurance company with assets of nearly $3 billion, making it among the 60 largest insurance companies in the country.

A & J Petersburg qualified for the recognition by being in the top 15 percent of all EMC agencies in the United States.  Agencies are evaluated on loss ratio, premium volume, policy and premium growth, policy and premium retention, and the position of EMC within the agency.

The annual award is based on key indicators including retention, profitability and growth, which are reviewed over a three-year period.
