City of Decorah officials are trying to figure out if they want to do additional work along Short Street during 2013.
A bond issue raised $3,585,000 in revenues to pay for work along the road. So far $3,122,187 has been spent. Another $275,000 in work is scheduled for 2013, including $140,000 in work at the Short Street/Highway 9 intersection.
But the city would have nearly $188,000 to spend on additional work along Short Street, if it wished. City officials say they'll probably go ahead with a $55,000 sewer main project near Pizza Hut. A couple of sidewalk projects are also possibilities, as is a street lighting project.
The City's Streets Committee MOnday night discussed all the options, but made no formal commitment to any additional projects.
