Luther College is close to hiring a new football coach

Luther College has narrowed the field of candidates to two for the head football coaching position at the school.

Simpson College offensive coordinator Joe Beschorner will be on the Luther College campus Thursday.  As part of his time on campus, Beschomer will meet with the public from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. in room 224 of the Regents Center.

North Central College defensive coordinator Rick Ponx was on the Luther College campus on Wednesday.

One of the two candidates is expected to be selected to replace Mike Durnin, who resigned in November after five years as head coach.
