Trails Unlimited Snowmobile Club puts up directional and safety signs in Winneshiek and Fayette Counties

The Trails Unlimited Snowmobile Club has been working to improve the sport of snowmobiling in Winneshiek and Fayette Counties.  
 
A grant from the Fayette County Community Foundation and sponsorships from local business sponsorships have paid for new directional and safety signs that have been installed along the 130 miles of trails in the club's region. The reflective signs offer information on nearby communities, gas stations, restaurants and lodging. More than 500 signs were assembled and installed utilizing countless volunteer hours and manpower.
 
The club has also designed and printed new trail maps that correspond with the signage markers. In addition, map box holders were purchased as a way to collect donations. Each map is a suggested $2 donation.
 
Trails Unlimited works in partnership with 240 landowners, nearly 100 club members and maintains over 130 miles of trail in Castalia, Ossian, Calmar, Fort Atkinson, Festina, Alpha, Hawkeye, Jackson Junction, St. Lucas, Auburn, Waucoma, West Union and Clermont.
