Has Decorah "Arrived?"

Decorah--busy on a Sunday afternoon!

I realize that the "Christmas at Luther" weekend has always brought a lot of people to Decorah, since 8,000 people attend the five performances.

But does it seem to you that Decorah has gotten busier in the last few years of this event because people not only want to attend the concert, they want to come to Decorah?

Judging by the packed stores and restaurants I was in over the weekend, it's not just the fabulous singing that's the attraction anymore.  Visitors can come to town early, enjoy some very good stores, visit with friends or family members in Decorah, head to the concert and then enjoy first-rate food afterwards.

That's the result of a LOT of hard work by a LOT of people.  But it's time to take a break and congratulate yourself for your role in making Decorah something that a lot of other towns would KILL to be: a destination location!
