Two-vehicle crash on Locust Road causes $9,000 in damages

Decorah police were called to a two-vehicle crash on Locust Road Thursday evening.

53-year-old Bonnie Arneson of Decorah was heading north on Locust Road around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.  She told police she looked down for a second and when she looked back up, a car driven by 65-year-old John Ott had slowed to make a right turn onto Laurel Drive.  Arneson could not stop in time, striking Ott's van.

The accident caused $9,000 in damages.  Police did not issue a ticket to Arneson.
