Absentee balloting has set a record in Winneshiek County

It is possible that more people will have cast ballots before Tuesday than those who will go to the polls on Election Day.  The Winneshiek County Auditor's Office had processed 5,600 absentee ballots as of Monday morning.  There are roughly 12,000 registered voters in Winneshiek County, so voter turnout on Tuesday will determine whether more than half the votes cast will be cast as absentee ballots.

Polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at 11 locations in Winneshiek County.
