A Decorah attorney's decision to give up his law license is delaying the trial of a Decorah man who faces criminal charges in connection with incidents involving his two sons.

James Bachmurski faces one Class D felony charge of child endangerment for allegedly kicking one of his sons on the son's leg. Bachmurski also faces two first degree harassment charges for other incidents involving his two sons.

Bachmurski originally was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, but his attorney, David Strand, has decided to quit practicing law and has given up his law license.,  A new attorney, Kevin Schoederl, has been appointed to take Strand's place.  But Schoeberl has asked for more time to prepare for the trial.

The request has been granted and Bachmurski's trial is now scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19th.  Charges were filed against Bachmurski in March, but he has waived his right to a speedy trail on the charges,.
