The Decorah City Council spent much of its meeting Monday night handling matters involving the Short Street project.
Council members approved a $373,310 payment to the project's contractor for work done so far. The city council also approved spending $6,186 to buy a piece of property at Sherwin Williams that will be used to help construct a new driveway into the Culver's restaurant. Finally, council members agreed to schedule a future discussion of the amount of local option sales tax money that is being used to pay for the Short Street project--and whether the city has enough flexibility in the revenues not being spent on Short Street.
