The Winneshiek County Celebration of Life will hold its annual fundraiser for breast cancer research from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8th at the Elks Club in Decorah.

Winneshiek County supervisors on Monday showed their support of the organization by signing a proclamation declaring October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  WCCOL board member Margaret Walter says the public's past support will allow Winneshiek County Celebration of Life to make it possible to offer free mammogram screenings at both Winneshiek Medical Center and Gundersen Lutheran-Decorah Clinic.  The group expects to pay for up to 100 mammogram screening this year.
