The Decorah Parks & Recreation Board wants to explore the option of having the YMCA operate a new Decorah Community Center, should one get built.
Board members have been studying a proposal to build a combination community center and bike trailhead on property on Water Street. But once the building gets built--if it gets built--the board wants to know how it will be operated. Because of that, it has asked Park-Rec Director Rick Edwards to contact some YMCA representatives to invite them to a future Park-Rec Board meeting to discuss the possibility of having the center operated by the YMCA.
