


The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department and the Decorah Police Department were busy during Iowa's Special Traffic Enforcement Program during a two-week period that included Labor Day.
The city and county police report making 185 additional traffic citations or warnings. There were 9 drunk driving arrests, 12 narcotics arrests, 70 speeding violations, 14 seat belt violations, three arrest warrants served, 8 narcotics arrests and investigation of 22 motor vehicle accidents. Police say they also gave assistance to 26 motorists during the time period.
