The Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees has unanimously approved several revisions to its two existing contracts with Mayo Clinic Health Systems--the Professional Services Agreement, which covers Mayo doctors who work for WMC, and the Management Services Agreement, which covers the five Mayo administrators who work for WMC. The revised contracts now must be approved by Mayo Clinic Health Systems.
The revisions will be in effect for the remaining three years of the ten-year contracts, which were signed in 2005. The revised contract also provides for a five year renewal--if both sides agree.
The revisions reflect the fact that Winneshiek Medical Center is now overseen by Mayo Clinic Health Systems Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse. They also clarify the roles of the Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Medical Officer at the hospital. Finally, there are several language changes that were made.
The WMC board approved the revised contracts on a 7-0 vote Wednesday night, reconvening in open session after spending an hour and a half in closed session discussing the contracts.
