City council delays action on Decorah Street Shop improvements

The City of Decorah's Street Committee will be asked for a recommendation on whether to accept the low bids on improvements to the city's Street Shop.

Bids on the project were opened Friday.  Four of the five components had lower than predicted bids.  But the fifth bid--for general construction--was $28,000 higher than estimated.

That brought the overall project to $170,769, which was more than $20,000 higher than the overall budget.
