Ask Mr. Answer Person: What is the status of the Upper Iowa River?

Now that Nordic Fest is over, we have had several e-mails to Mr. Answer Person similar to this one: "What is the story on the Upper Iowa River ......is it too low to canoe or kayak?"
 
Mr. Answer Person says:  It's interesting to check the river levels of the Upper Iowa River on the National Weather Service website.  For as hot a summer as we've had, the river levels have stayed remarkably consistent.  
 Mr. A.P. has heard from one reader who went from the Hutchinson Campground to Pole Line Road and only had to get out once (and that was because they went left when they should have gone right!)

So if you're wanting to enjoy the Upper Iowa River one more time before school starts (I won't remind you how soon that is!), feel free to head out this weekend.
