


The North Winneshiek School Board handled a number of personnel issues at its meeting Monday.
The board approved a 3.44 percent salary increase for support staff for next school year. The support staff includes secretaries, cooks, custodians, bus drivers, associates, and a nurse. The pay raise is the same percentage increase as what the teachers received.
The North Winn school board also approved a summer recreation director's contract of $2,000 for Matt Amundson and hired Amundson for the 2012-2013 athletic directors' position with a salary of $2,500. Matt is also a full time intervention teacher.
Extra duty contracts for 3rd grade teacher Lisa Barth and 5th grade teacher Kris Bigler were approved. They will serve as the curriculum directors for the 2012-2013 school year and will each receive a salary of $2,000..
Finally, the school board recognized and thanked three retiring teachers: John Ahrens, who has taught at North Winn for 16 years, Jane Langholz, who has taught at North Winn for 12 years, and Cathy Evelsizer, who has taught at North Winn for 11 years.
