DEA and School Board both approve negotiated contract

On Monday  both the Decorah Education Association and the Decorah Community School Board approved the earlier negotiated contract settlement of their respective negotiating teams  for the 2012-13 school year.

That settlement called for a 3.59 percent package increase, for a total package cost of $300,268. It included a base salary of increase of $485 to $30,695.  Superintendent Mike Haluska said that currently the average statewide increase was 3.74 percent.
