Wedding facility on Madison Road gets first approval

A proposed wedding facility on Madison Road has gotten its first approval.

The proposal by Dave and Jane Jensen would create a destination event center on the property.  Plans include moving an old school house to the land.

Winneshiek County supervisors on Monday held a first reading of a zoning change to C1 Highway Commercial for the property.  Two more readings of the zoning change will be held.  Supervisors approved Monday's reading by a 5-0 vote.
