Pauline and Bob Procter of Decorah spent nearly 64 years together after promising on June 5th, 1948 to honor one another "'til death do us part."

It turns out that even death didn't part the couple.  Pauline passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, March 26th, at the age of 86, while Bob passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday April 9th, at the age of 88.

The two met in Chicago, then moved to a Chicago suburb to raise four children.   In 1997, they decided they wanted the leave the city.   The built their dream retirement home in Decorah, next to Oneota Country Club (Bob said owning a house next to a golf course was on his "bucket list")

A celebration of life for the couple was held Friday evening—naturally enough, at Oneota Golf & Country Club.  Their son, Ken Procter of Decorah, says Friday night at the country club were one of the highlights of the week for his parents.

The couple would have celebrated their 64th anniversary on June 5th.  But, since they died just two weeks apart, both in their sleep, their son, Ken Procter, notes, "They still will be together."
