Two-car accident causes $3,000 in damages

Decorah Police responded to a two-car accident on College Drive Wednesday morning.

Police say 86-year-old Floyd Strinmoen had stopped behind a vehicle that was turning left. 28-year-old Jamee Xiya could not stop her car in time and it skidded into Strinmoen's car, causing $3,000 in damages.

Police did not ticket Xiya because she said she had trouble seeing due to the low angle of the sun at that hour.

Neither driver was injured.
