School officials praise the handling of the school bus accident

Decorah School District officials are expressing their gratitude to a number of people for the way Tuesday afternoon's car/school bus collision was handled.

A news release from the school district commended school bus driver Brian Bullerman for his calm response following the accident as well as his aid to the students.  Said the school district, "Mr. Bullerman's adherence to bus rules and students seated properly on the bus, helped to prevent serious injuries. Brian has an excellent driving record during his tenure with the district. He also has the respect of parents and the students he transports daily."

The school district also thanked the Winneshiek Medical Center staff, law enforcement, and all emergency personnel who responded so quickly at the accident site.
