Decorahnews.com special report discussion: Stop the bickering between Gundersen and Mayo

OK.  We understand,  Gundersen Clinic decided to build its own clinic away from the Winneshiek Medical Center property, then Winneshiek Medical Center bought the Decorah Clinic, so now the two organizations are competitors.

The public doesn't expect the two organizations to hold hands and gaze longingly into one another's eyes.

But Winneshiek County residents are sick of the bickering.

It's hard to overstate how tired the public has grown of the constant battling between the two organizations.  Yes, we understand the financial implications of the current arrangement for health care in Winneshiek County.  But aren't there a few areas in which Gundersen, Mayo Clinic and Winneshiek Medical Center can work together to help meet everyone's interests?

Maybe this will happen in only a few cases, but those cases would change public perceptions drastically.  

The public has watched for years and years as everybody fought and argued and called one another names. 

Now the public has just one wish:  Just.  Stop.  It.
