The Family Care Clinic of Decorah will double its space when it moves into a new facility in May.
The clinic is Decorah's only medical clinic that is not run by either Mayo Clinic Health System or Gundersen Clinic. Business has been booming for the clinic, which now has over 4,000 patients.
Dr. David Heine says work has begun on renovating the former ISU Extension Office building on Short Street so that it can be used as a medical clinic. The building already had handicapped accessible entrances and ADA-compliant bathrooms.
The new space has around 2,500 square feet. Gossman Construction is handling the remodeling. Dr. Heine says he's hoping for a May 15th opening of the new facility.
