This is severe weather awareness week

This week is Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa.

Emergency management agencies and the National Weather Service are using this week to remind people about the dangers of severe weather, including thunderstorms, flash flooding, and tornadoes.

The La Crosse National Weather Service Office's website has a severe weather preparedness page with links and useful reference material.

As part of the week, a tornado drill will be conducted at 10:20 Wednesday morning in order to test warning dissemination methods and communication.
