Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country.
For the past two years, students at Carrie Lee Elementary School in Decorah have observed Red Ribbon Week in the fall by planting red tulips.
This year's unseasonably warm weather has led to the tulips blooming much earlier than normal this spring. That has produced a display that is serving as a reminder that students made a pledge to be drug and alcohol free and to embrace a life of wellness.
