One car accident on Highway 52 totals car

Decorah Police say a Jefferson, Iowa man became sick and lost consciousness while driving on Highway 52 near Pole Line Road Thursday afternoon.

20-year-old Shawon Zmolek's car left the highway, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree.  The accident caused the car to be a total loss.  Zmolek was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by ambulance, complaining of a possible injury.  He was not ticketed.
