


Winneshiek County supervisors have voted unamimously to reduce the recommendations of the county's Compensation Board and give elected officials a 2 percent pay raise, not a 2.5 percent raise.
The action will increase Sheriff Leon Bohr's salary to $63,878 a year starting July 1st. County Attorney Andy Van Der Maaten's salary will increase to $56,877 a year. Treasurer Wayne Walter will be paid $49,152 a year starting JUly 1st. County Auditor Ben Steines will receive a $48,774 salary, while County Recorder Teresa Bockman's salary will increase to $47,890.
County supervisors will also be getting pay raises. County Board Chairman Les Askelson will receive $28,813 a year, while the other four supervisors each will be paid $28,099.
